DUSP1-MFN1 Fusion FISH Probe
The DUSP1-MFN1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the DUSP1 and MFN1 genes. The fusion of the DUSP1 and MFN1 genes has been associated with Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

DUSP1 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a phosphatase with dual specificity for tyrosine and threonine. The encoded protein can dephosphorylate MAP kinase MAPK1/ERK2, which results in its involvement in several cellular processes. This protein appears to play an important role in the human cellular response to environmental stress as well as in the negative regulation of cellular proliferation. Finally, the encoded protein can make some solid tumors resistant to both chemotherapy and radiotherapy, making it a target for cancer therapy. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2017]
Gene Name: Dual Specificity Phosphatase 1
Chromosome: CHR5: 172195092 -172198203
Locus: 5q35.1
MFN1 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a mediator of mitochondrial fusion. This protein and mitofusin 2 are homologs of the Drosophila protein fuzzy onion (Fzo). They are mitochondrial membrane proteins that interact with each other to facilitate mitochondrial targeting. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Mitofusin 1
Chromosome: CHR3: 179065479 -179111008
Locus: 3q26.33
