DSTYK-BRAF Fusion FISH Probe
The DSTYK-BRAF Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the DSTYK and BRAF genes. The fusion of the DSTYK and BRAF genes has been associated with Skin Cutaneous Melanoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

BRAF Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein belonging to the RAF family of serine/threonine protein kinases. This protein plays a role in regulating the MAP kinase/ERK signaling pathway, which affects cell division, differentiation, and secretion. Mutations in this gene, most commonly the V600E mutation, are the most frequently identified cancer-causing mutations in melanoma, and have been identified in various other cancers as well, including non-Hodgkin lymphoma, colorectal cancer, thyroid carcinoma, non-small cell lung carcinoma, hairy cell leukemia and adenocarcinoma of lung. Mutations in this gene are also associated with cardiofaciocutaneous, Noonan, and Costello syndromes, which exhibit overlapping phenotypes. A pseudogene of this gene has been identified on the X chromosome. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2017]
Gene Name: B-Raf Proto-oncogene, Serine/threonine Kinase
Chromosome: CHR7: 140433812 -140624564
Locus: 7q34
DSTYK Gene Summary
This gene encodes a dual serine/threonine and tyrosine protein kinase which is expressed in multiple tissues. It is thought to function as a regulator of cell death. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2008]
Gene Name: Dual Serine/threonine And Tyrosine Protein Kinase
Chromosome: CHR1: 205111630 -205180727
Locus: 1q32.1
