DNMBP-CPN1 Fusion FISH Probe
The DNMBP-CPN1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the DNMBP and CPN1 genes. The fusion of the DNMBP and CPN1 genes has been associated with Skin Cutaneous Melanoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

CPN1 Gene Summary
Carboxypeptidase N is a plasma metallo-protease that cleaves basic amino acids from the C terminal of peptides and proteins. The enzyme is important in the regulation of peptides like kinins and anaphylatoxins, and has also been known as kininase-1 and anaphylatoxin inactivator. This enzyme is a tetramer comprised of two identical regulatory subunits and two identical catalytic subunits; this gene encodes the catalytic subunit. Mutations in this gene can be associated with angioedema or chronic urticaria resulting from carboxypeptidase N deficiency. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Carboxypeptidase N Subunit 1
Chromosome: CHR10: 101802064 -101841642
Locus: 10q24.2
DNMBP Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein belonging to the guanine nucleotide exchange factor family, and which regulates the configuration of cell junctions. It contains multiple binding sites for dynamin and thus links dynamin to actin regulatory proteins. Polymorphisms in this gene have been linked to Alzheimer's disease in some populations, though there are conflicting reports of such linkages in other populations. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2015]
