DISC1-LYPLAL1 Fusion FISH Probe
The DISC1-LYPLAL1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the DISC1 and LYPLAL1 genes. The fusion of the DISC1 and LYPLAL1 genes has been associated with Rectum Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

The protein is involved in neurite outgrowth and cortical development through its interaction with other proteins. This gene is disrupted in a t(1;11)(q42.1;q14.3) translocation which segregates with schizophrenia and related psychiatric disorders in a large Scottish family.
