DIP2B-TBC1D15 Fusion FISH Probe
The DIP2B-TBC1D15 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the DIP2B and TBC1D15 genes. The fusion of the DIP2B and TBC1D15 genes has been associated with Skin Cutaneous Melanoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

DIP2B Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the disco-interacting protein homolog 2 protein family. The encoded protein contains a binding site for the transcriptional regulator DNA methyltransferase 1 associated protein 1 as well as AMP-binding sites. The presence of these sites suggests that the encoded protein may participate in DNA methylation. This gene is located near a folate-sensitive fragile site, and CGG-repeat expansion in the promoter of this gene which affects transcription has been detected in individuals containing this fragile site on chromosome 12. Gene Name: Disco Interacting Protein 2 Homolog B
Chromosome: CHR12: 50898767 -51142450
Locus: 12q13.12
TBC1D15 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the Ras-like proteins in brain-GTPase activating protein superfamily that share a conserved Tre-2/Bub2/Cdc16 domain. The encoded protein interacts with Ras-like protein in brain 5A and may function as a regulator of intracellular trafficking. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2009]
Gene Name: TBC1 Domain Family Member 15
Chromosome: CHR12: 72233486 -72320629
Locus: 12q21.1
