DHRS2-IL25 Fusion FISH Probe

The DHRS2-IL25 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the DHRS2 and IL25 genes. The fusion of the DHRS2 and IL25 genes has been associated with Bladder Urothelial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

DHRS2 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a member of the short-chain dehydrogenases/reductases (SDR) family, which has over 46,000 members. Members of this family are enzymes that metabolize many different compounds, such as steroid hormones, prostaglandins, retinoids, lipids and xenobiotics. Alternative promoter use and alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2017]

Gene Name: Dehydrogenase/reductase 2

Chromosome: CHR14: 24105572 -24114848

Locus: 14q11.2

IL25 Gene Summary

The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine that shares sequence similarity with interleukin 17. This cytokine can induce NF-kappaB activation, and stimulate the production of interleukin 8. Both this cytokine and interleukin 17B are ligands for the cytokine receptor IL17BR. Studies of a similar gene in mice suggest that this cytokine may be a pro-inflammatory cytokine favoring the Th2-type immune response. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2010]

Gene Name: Interleukin 25

Chromosome: CHR14: 23842017 -23845612

Locus: 14q11.2
