DDX5-PFKP Fusion FISH Probe
The DDX5-PFKP Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the DDX5 and PFKP genes. The fusion of the DDX5 and PFKP genes has been associated with Lung Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

DDX5 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the DEAD box family of RNA helicases that are involved in a variety of cellular processes as a result of its role as an adaptor molecule, promoting interactions with a large number of other factors. This protein is involved in pathways that include the alteration of RNA structures, plays a role as a coregulator of transcription, a regulator of splicing, and in the processing of small noncoding RNAs. Members of this family contain nine conserved motifs, including the conserved Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD) motif, important to ATP binding and hydrolysis as well as RNA binding and unwinding activities. Dysregulation of this gene may play a role in cancer development. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2017]
Gene Name: DEAD-box Helicase 5
Chromosome: CHR17: 62494373 -62502484
Locus: 17q23.3
PFKP Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the phosphofructokinase A protein family. The encoded enzyme is the platelet-specific isoform of phosphofructokinase and plays a key role in glycolysis regulation. This gene may play a role in metabolic reprogramming in some cancers, including clear cell renal cell carcinomas, and cancer of the bladder, breast, and lung. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2016]
Gene Name: Phosphofructokinase, Platelet
Chromosome: CHR10: 3109711 -3178997
Locus: 10p15.2
