CYP39A1-LEMD2 Fusion FISH Probe
The CYP39A1-LEMD2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the CYP39A1 and LEMD2 genes. The fusion of the CYP39A1 and LEMD2 genes has been associated with Kidney Renal Clear Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

CYP39A1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooxygenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. This endoplasmic reticulum protein is involved in the conversion of cholesterol to bile acids. Its substrates include the oxysterols 25-hydroxycholesterol, 27-hydroxycholesterol and 24-hydroxycholesterol. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Gene Name: Cytochrome P450 Family 39 Subfamily A Member 1
Chromosome: CHR6: 46517444 -46620523
Locus: 6p12.3
LEMD2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a LEM domain-containing transmembrane protein of the inner nuclear membrane. The protein is involved in nuclear structure organization and plays a role in cell signaling and differentiation. Mutations in this gene result in Cataract 46, juvenile-onset. Multiple transcript variants have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2017]
Gene Name: LEM Domain Containing 2
Chromosome: CHR6: 33738989 -33756906
Locus: 6p21.31
