CUL4B-DAPK2 Fusion FISH Probe
The CUL4B-DAPK2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the CUL4B and DAPK2 genes. The fusion of the CUL4B and DAPK2 genes has been associated with Liver Hepatocellular Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

CUL4B Gene Summary
This gene is a member of the cullin family. The encoded protein forms a complex that functions as an E3 ubiquitin ligase and catalyzes the polyubiquitination of specific protein substrates in the cell. The protein interacts with a ring finger protein, and is required for the proteolysis of several regulators of DNA replication including chromatin licensing and DNA replication factor 1 and cyclin E. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Cullin 4B
Chromosome: CHRX: 119658445 -119709684
Locus: Xq24
DAPK2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein that belongs to the serine/threonine protein kinase family. This protein contains a N-terminal protein kinase domain followed by a conserved calmodulin-binding domain with significant similarity to that of death-associated protein kinase 1 (DAPK1), a positive regulator of programmed cell death. Overexpression of this gene was shown to induce cell apoptosis. It uses multiple polyadenylation sites. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Death Associated Protein Kinase 2
Chromosome: CHR15: 64199234 -64338521
Locus: 15q22.31
