CREB5-KCNH2 Fusion FISH Probe
The CREB5-KCNH2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the CREB5 and KCNH2 genes. The fusion of the CREB5 and KCNH2 genes has been associated with Glioblastoma Multiforme. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

KCNH2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a voltage-activated potassium channel belonging to the eag family. It shares sequence similarity with the Drosophila ether-a-go-go (eag) gene. Mutations in this gene can cause long QT syndrome type 2 (LQT2). Transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Potassium Voltage-gated Channel Subfamily H Member 2
Chromosome: CHR7: 150642043 -150675402
Locus: 7q36.1
CREB5 Gene Summary
The product of this gene belongs to the CRE (cAMP response element)-binding protein family. Members of this family contain zinc-finger and bZIP DNA-binding domains. The encoded protein specifically binds to CRE as a homodimer or a heterodimer with c-Jun or CRE-BP1, and functions as a CRE-dependent trans-activator. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: CAMP Responsive Element Binding Protein 5
Chromosome: CHR7: 28338939 -28865511
Locus: 7p15.1
