CPSF1-VPS28 Fusion FISH Probe
The CPSF1-VPS28 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the CPSF1 and VPS28 genes. The fusion of the CPSF1 and VPS28 genes has been associated with Head And Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma . These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

CPSF1 Gene Summary
Cleavage and polyadenylation specificity factor (CPSF) is a multisubunit complex that plays a central role in 3-prime processing of pre-mRNAs. CPSF recognizes the AAUAAA signal in the pre-mRNA and interacts with other proteins to facilitate both RNA cleavage and poly(A) synthesis. CPSF1 is the largest subunit of the CPSF complex (Murthy and Manley, 1995 [PubMed 7590244]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
Gene Name: Cleavage And Polyadenylation Specific Factor 1
Chromosome: CHR8: 145618445 -145634733
Locus: 8q24.3
VPS28 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein subunit of the ESCRT-I complex (endosomal complexes required for transport), which functions in the transport and sorting of proteins into subcellular vesicles. This complex can also be hijacked to facilitate the budding of enveloped viruses from the cell membrane. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2013]
Gene Name: VPS28, ESCRT-I Subunit
Chromosome: CHR8: 145648999 -145653927
Locus: 8q24.3
