CPAMD8-HAUS8 Fusion FISH Probe
The CPAMD8-HAUS8 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the CPAMD8 and HAUS8 genes. The fusion of the CPAMD8 and HAUS8 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

CPAMD8 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the protease inhibitor I39 (alpha-2-macroglobulin) family of proteins. These proteins are important in innate and acquired immunity. The encoded protein is membrane-associated and proteolytically processed to generate two chains. Mutations in this gene cause a form of anterior segment dysgenesis, a developmental disorder of the eye. [provided by RefSeq, May 2017]
Gene Name: C3 And PZP Like, Alpha-2-macroglobulin Domain Containing 8
Chromosome: CHR19: 17003761 -17137625
Locus: 19p13.11
HAUS8 Gene Summary
HAUS8 is 1 of 8 subunits of the 390-kD human augmin complex, or HAUS complex. The augmin complex was first identified in Drosophila, and its name comes from the Latin verb 'augmentare,' meaning 'to increase.' The augmin complex is a microtubule-binding complex involved in microtubule generation within the mitotic spindle and is vital to mitotic spindle assembly (Goshima et al., 2008 [PubMed 18443220]; Uehara et al., 2009 [PubMed 19369198]).[supplied by OMIM, Jun 2010]
Gene Name: HAUS Augmin Like Complex Subunit 8
Chromosome: CHR19: 17160570 -17186343
Locus: 19p13.11
