COL4A2-CCT5 Fusion FISH Probe

The COL4A2-CCT5 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the COL4A2 and CCT5 genes. The fusion of the COL4A2 and CCT5 genes has been associated with Rectum Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use.

COL4A2 Gene Summary

This gene encodes one of the six subunits of type IV collagen, the major structural component of basement membranes. The C-terminal portion of the protein, known as canstatin, is an inhibitor of angiogenesis and tumor growth. Like the other members of the type IV collagen gene family, this gene is organized in a head-to-head conformation with another type IV collagen gene so that each gene pair shares a common promoter. Gene Name: Collagen Type IV Alpha 2 Chain

Chromosome: CHR13: 110959630 -111165373

Locus: 13q34

CCT5 Gene Summary

The protein encoded by this gene is a molecular chaperone that is a member of the chaperonin containing TCP1 complex (CCT), also known as the TCP1 ring complex (TRiC). This complex consists of two identical stacked rings, each containing eight different proteins. Unfolded polypeptides enter the central cavity of the complex and are folded in an ATP-dependent manner. The complex folds various proteins, including actin and tubulin. Mutations in this gene cause hereditary sensory and autonomic neuropathy with spastic paraplegia (HSNSP). Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Related pseudogenes have been identified on chromosomes 5 and 13. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2015]

Gene Name: Chaperonin Containing TCP1 Subunit 5

Chromosome: CHR5: 10250281 -10266501

Locus: 5p15.2
