COL16A1-CPSF6 Fusion FISH Probe
The COL16A1-CPSF6 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the COL16A1 and CPSF6 genes. The fusion of the COL16A1 and CPSF6 genes has been associated with Head And Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma , and Head And Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma . These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

COL16A1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes the alpha chain of type XVI collagen, a member of the FACIT collagen family (fibril-associated collagens with interrupted helices). Members of this collagen family are found in association with fibril-forming collagens such as type I and II, and serve to maintain the integrity of the extracellular matrix. High levels of type XVI collagen have been found in fibroblasts and keratinocytes, and in smooth muscle and amnion. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Collagen Type XVI Alpha 1 Chain
Chromosome: CHR1: 32117847 -32169768
Locus: 1p35.2
CPSF6 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is one subunit of a cleavage factor required for 3' RNA cleavage and polyadenylation processing. The interaction of the protein with the RNA is one of the earliest steps in the assembly of the 3' end processing complex and facilitates the recruitment of other processing factors. The cleavage factor complex is composed of four polypeptides. This gene encodes the 68kD subunit. It has a domain organization reminiscent of spliceosomal proteins. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Cleavage And Polyadenylation Specific Factor 6
Chromosome: CHR12: 69633316 -69668138
Locus: 12q15
