COG5-CBLL1 Fusion FISH Probe
The COG5-CBLL1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the COG5 and CBLL1 genes. The fusion of the COG5 and CBLL1 genes has been associated with Lung Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

COG5 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is one of eight proteins (Cog1-8) which form a Golgi-localized complex (COG) required for normal Golgi morphology and function. The encoded protein is organized with conserved oligomeric Golgi complex components 6, 7 and 8 into a sub-complex referred to as lobe B. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Mutations in this gene result in congenital disorder of glycosylation type 2I.[provided by RefSeq, Jan 2011]
Gene Name: Component Of Oligomeric Golgi Complex 5
Chromosome: CHR7: 106842188 -107204959
Locus: 7q22.3
CBLL1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes an E3 ubiquitin-ligase for the E-cadherin complex and mediates its ubiquitination, endocytosis, and degradation in the lysosomes. The encoded protein contains a RING-finger domain and is also thought to have a role in control of cell proliferation. A related pseudogene has been identified on chromosome X. Alternative splicing results in a non-coding transcript variant. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]
Gene Name: Cbl Proto-oncogene Like 1
Chromosome: CHR7: 107384278 -107402083
Locus: 7q22.3
