COBLL1-NUDT15 Fusion FISH Probe

The COBLL1-NUDT15 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the COBLL1 and NUDT15 genes. The fusion of the COBLL1 and NUDT15 genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use.

COBLL1 Gene Summary

The Cordon-bleu WH2 Repeat Protein Like 1 (COBLL1) gene is located on chr2 :165541257-165697928 at 2q24.3.

Gene Name: Cordon-bleu WH2 Repeat Protein Like 1

Chromosome: CHR2: 165541257 -165697928

Locus: 2q24.3

NUDT15 Gene Summary

This gene encodes an enzyme that belongs to the Nudix hydrolase superfamily. Members of this superfamily catalyze the hydrolysis of nucleoside diphosphates, including substrates like 8-oxo-dGTP, which are a result of oxidative damage, and can induce base mispairing during DNA replication, causing transversions. The encoded enzyme is a negative regulator of thiopurine activation and toxicity. Mutations in this gene result in poor metabolism of thiopurines, and are associated with thiopurine-induced early leukopenia. Multiple pseudogenes of this gene have been identified.
