CNOT2-NUP107 Fusion FISH Probe

The CNOT2-NUP107 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the CNOT2 and NUP107 genes. The fusion of the CNOT2 and NUP107 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma, and Stomach Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

CNOT2 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a subunit of the multi-component CCR4-NOT complex. The CCR4-NOT complex regulates mRNA synthesis and degradation and is also thought to be involved in mRNA splicing, transport and localization. The encoded protein interacts with histone deacetylases and functions as a repressor of polymerase II transcription. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2010]

Gene Name: CCR4-NOT Transcription Complex Subunit 2

Chromosome: CHR12: 70636773 -70748773

Locus: 12q15

NUP107 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a member of the nucleoporin family. The protein is localized to the nuclear rim and is an essential component of the nuclear pore complex (NPC). All molecules entering or leaving the nucleus either diffuse through or are actively transported by the NPC. Alternate transcriptional splice variants of this gene have been observed but have not been thoroughly characterized. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: Nucleoporin 107

Chromosome: CHR12: 69080730 -69136473

Locus: 12q15
