CNOT1-PRRX2 Fusion FISH Probe

The CNOT1-PRRX2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the CNOT1 and PRRX2 genes. The fusion of the CNOT1 and PRRX2 genes has been associated with Stomach Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use.

CNOT1 Gene Summary

The CCR4-NOT Transcription Complex Subunit 1 (CNOT1) gene is located on chr16 :58553854-58663750 at 16q21.

Gene Name: CCR4-NOT Transcription Complex Subunit 1

Chromosome: CHR16: 58553854 -58663750

Locus: 16q21

PRRX2 Gene Summary

The DNA-associated protein encoded by this gene is a member of the paired family of homeobox proteins. Expression is localized to proliferating fetal fibroblasts and the developing dermal layer, with downregulated expression in adult skin. Increases in expression of this gene during fetal but not adult wound healing suggest a possible role in mechanisms that control mammalian dermal regeneration and prevent formation of scar response to wounding. The expression patterns provide evidence consistent with a role in fetal skin development and a possible role in cellular proliferation. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
