CMBL-DARS2 Fusion FISH Probe
The CMBL-DARS2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the CMBL and DARS2 genes. The fusion of the CMBL and DARS2 genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

DARS2 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the class-II aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase family. It is a mitochondrial enzyme that specifically aminoacylates aspartyl-tRNA. Mutations in this gene are associated with leukoencephalopathy with brainstem and spinal cord involvement and lactate elevation (LBSL). [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2009]
Gene Name: Aspartyl-tRNA Synthetase 2, Mitochondrial
Chromosome: CHR1: 173793796 -173827682
Locus: 1q25.1
CMBL Gene Summary
CMBL (EC 3.1.1.45) is a cysteine hydrolase of the dienelactone hydrolase family that is highly expressed in liver cytosol. CMBL preferentially cleaves cyclic esters, and it activates medoxomil-ester prodrugs in which the medoxomil moiety is linked to an oxygen atom (Ishizuka et al., 2010 [PubMed 20177059]).[supplied by OMIM, Apr 2010]
Gene Name: Carboxymethylenebutenolidase Homolog
Chromosome: CHR5: 10277706 -10308168
Locus: 5p15.2
