CLU-APOL3 Fusion FISH Probe
The CLU-APOL3 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the CLU and APOL3 genes. The fusion of the CLU and APOL3 genes has been associated with Liver Hepatocellular Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

CLU Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a secreted chaperone that can under some stress conditions also be found in the cell cytosol. It has been suggested to be involved in several basic biological events such as cell death, tumor progression, and neurodegenerative disorders. Alternate splicing results in both coding and non-coding variants.[provided by RefSeq, May 2011]
Gene Name: Clusterin
Chromosome: CHR8: 27454433 -27472328
Locus: 8p21.1
APOL3 Gene Summary
This gene is a member of the apolipoprotein L gene family, and it is present in a cluster with other family members on chromosome 22. The encoded protein is found in the cytoplasm, where it may affect the movement of lipids, including cholesterol, and/or allow the binding of lipids to organelles. In addition, expression of this gene is up-regulated by tumor necrosis factor-alpha in endothelial cells lining the normal and atherosclerotic iliac artery and aorta. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2015]
Gene Name: Apolipoprotein L3
Chromosome: CHR22: 36536370 -36562225
Locus: 22q12.3
