CLINT1-UCHL3 Fusion FISH Probe
The CLINT1-UCHL3 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the CLINT1 and UCHL3 genes. The fusion of the CLINT1 and UCHL3 genes has been associated with Skin Cutaneous Melanoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

UCHL3 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the deubiquitinating enzyme family. Members of this family are proteases that catalyze the removal of ubiquitin from polypeptides and are divided into five classes, depending on the mechanism of catalysis. This protein may hydrolyze the ubiquitinyl-N-epsilon amide bond of ubiquitinated proteins to regenerate ubiquitin for another catalytic cycle. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants that encode different protein isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2012]
Gene Name: Ubiquitin C-terminal Hydrolase L3
Chromosome: CHR13: 76123926 -76180068
Locus: 13q22.2
CLINT1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein with similarity to the epsin family of endocytic adapter proteins. The encoded protein interacts with clathrin, the adapter protein AP-1 and phosphoinositides. This protein may be involved in the formation of clathrin coated vesicles and trafficking between the trans-Golgi network and endosomes. Mutations in this gene are associated with a susceptibility to schizophrenia and psychotic disorders. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2010]
Gene Name: Clathrin Interactor 1
Chromosome: CHR5: 157212750 -157286183
Locus: 5q33.3
