CLIC2-MAMLD1 Fusion FISH Probe
The CLIC2-MAMLD1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the CLIC2 and MAMLD1 genes. The fusion of the CLIC2 and MAMLD1 genes has been associated with Sarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

CLIC2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a chloride intracellular channel protein. Chloride channels are a diverse group of proteins that regulate fundamental cellular processes including stabilization of cell membrane potential, transepithelial transport, maintenance of intracellular pH, and regulation of cell volume. This protein plays a role in inhibiting the function of ryanodine receptor 2. A mutation in this gene is the cause of an X-linked form of cognitive disability. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2017]
Gene Name: Chloride Intracellular Channel 2
Chromosome: CHRX: 154505499 -154563986
Locus: Xq28
MAMLD1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a mastermind-like domain containing protein. This protein may function as a transcriptional co-activator. Mutations in this gene are the cause of X-linked hypospadias type 2. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2010]
Gene Name: Mastermind Like Domain Containing 1
Chromosome: CHRX: 149531550 -149682448
Locus: Xq28
