CLEC2D-ERC1 Fusion FISH Probe
The CLEC2D-ERC1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the CLEC2D and ERC1 genes. The fusion of the CLEC2D and ERC1 genes has been associated with Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

ERC1 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of a family of RIM-binding proteins. RIMs are active zone proteins that regulate neurotransmitter release. This gene has been found fused to the receptor-type tyrosine kinase gene RET by gene rearrangement due to the translocation t(10;12)(q11;p13) in thyroid papillary carcinoma. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2014]
Gene Name: ELKS/RAB6-interacting/CAST Family Member 1
Chromosome: CHR12: 1100403 -1605099
Locus: 12p13.33
CLEC2D Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the natural killer cell receptor C-type lectin family. The encoded protein inhibits osteoclast formation and contains a transmembrane domain near the N-terminus as well as the C-type lectin-like extracellular domain. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2010]
Gene Name: C-type Lectin Domain Family 2 Member D
Chromosome: CHR12: 9822307 -9852151
Locus: 12p13.31
