CKM-SIAE Fusion FISH Probe
The CKM-SIAE Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the CKM and SIAE genes. The fusion of the CKM and SIAE genes has been associated with Head And Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma . These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use.

CKM Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a cytoplasmic enzyme involved in energy homeostasis and is an important serum marker for myocardial infarction. The encoded protein reversibly catalyzes the transfer of phosphate between ATP and various phosphogens such as creatine phosphate. It acts as a homodimer in striated muscle as well as in other tissues, and as a heterodimer with a similar brain isozyme in heart. The encoded protein is a member of the ATP:guanido phosphotransferase protein family. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Creatine Kinase, M-type
Chromosome: CHR19: 45809670 -45826233
Locus: 19q13.32
SIAE Gene Summary
This gene encodes an enzyme which removes 9-O-acetylation modifications from sialic acids. Mutations in this gene are associated with susceptibility to autoimmune disease 6. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms, found either in the cytosol or in the lysosome, have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Feb 2011]
Gene Name: Sialic Acid Acetylesterase
Chromosome: CHR11: 124505684 -124546199
