CIZ1-SLC16A3 Fusion FISH Probe
The CIZ1-SLC16A3 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the CIZ1 and SLC16A3 genes. The fusion of the CIZ1 and SLC16A3 genes has been associated with Sarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

SLC16A3 Gene Summary
Lactic acid and pyruvate transport across plasma membranes is catalyzed by members of the proton-linked monocarboxylate transporter (MCT) family, which has been designated solute carrier family-16. Each MCT appears to have slightly different substrate and inhibitor specificities and transport kinetics, which are related to the metabolic requirements of the tissues in which it is found. The MCTs, which include MCT1 (SLC16A1; MIM 600682) and MCT2 (SLC16A7; MIM 603654), are characterized by 12 predicted transmembrane domains (Price et al., 1998 [PubMed 9425115]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
Gene Name: Solute Carrier Family 16 Member 3
Chromosome: CHR17: 80186281 -80197375
Locus: 17q25.3
CIZ1 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a zinc finger DNA binding protein that interacts with CIP1, part of a complex with cyclin E. The encoded protein may regulate the cellular localization of CIP1. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2012]
Gene Name: CDKN1A Interacting Zinc Finger Protein 1
