CHSY1-SPOCK2 Fusion FISH Probe
The CHSY1-SPOCK2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the CHSY1 and SPOCK2 genes. The fusion of the CHSY1 and SPOCK2 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

SPOCK2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein which binds with glycosaminoglycans to form part of the extracellular matrix. The protein contains thyroglobulin type-1, follistatin-like, and calcium-binding domains, and has glycosaminoglycan attachment sites in the acidic C-terminal region. Three alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode different protein isoforms have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]
Gene Name: SPARC/osteonectin, Cwcv And Kazal Like Domains Proteoglycan 2
Chromosome: CHR10: 73818791 -73848790
Locus: 10q22.1
CHSY1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the chondroitin N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase family. These enzymes possess dual glucuronyltransferase and galactosaminyltransferase activity and play critical roles in the biosynthesis of chondroitin sulfate, a glycosaminoglycan involved in many biological processes including cell proliferation and morphogenesis. Decreased expression of this gene may play a role in colorectal cancer, and mutations in this gene are a cause of temtamy preaxial brachydactyly syndrome. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2011]
Gene Name: Chondroitin Sulfate Synthase 1
Chromosome: CHR15: 101715927 -101792137
Locus: 15q26.3
