CEP350-TOR1AIP1 Fusion FISH Probe
The CEP350-TOR1AIP1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the CEP350 and TOR1AIP1 genes. The fusion of the CEP350 and TOR1AIP1 genes has been associated with Bladder Urothelial Carcinoma, and Bladder Urothelial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

CEP350 Gene Summary
The product of this gene is a large protein with a CAP-Gly domain typically found in cytoskeleton-associated proteins. The encoded protein primarily localizes to the centrosome, a non-membraneous organelle that functions as the major microtubule-organizing center in animal cells. The encoded protein directly interacts with another large centrosomal protein and is required to anchor microtubules at the centrosome. It is also implicated in the regulation of a class of nuclear hormone receptors in the nucleus. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found, but their full-length nature has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Centrosomal Protein 350
Chromosome: CHR1: 179923907 -180084015
Locus: 1q25.2
TOR1AIP1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a type 2 integral membrane protein that binds A- and B-type lamins. The encoded protein localizes to the inner nuclear membrane and may be involved in maintaining the attachment of the nuclear membrane to the nuclear lamina during cell division. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2016]
