CDKAL1-LIG1 Fusion FISH Probe
The CDKAL1-LIG1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the CDKAL1 and LIG1 genes. The fusion of the CDKAL1 and LIG1 genes has been associated with Bladder Urothelial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

LIG1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the ATP-dependent DNA ligase protein family. The encoded protein functions in DNA replication, recombination, and the base excision repair process. Mutations in this gene that lead to DNA ligase I deficiency result in immunodeficiency and increased sensitivity to DNA-damaging agents. Disruption of this gene may also be associated with a variety of cancers. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2014]
Gene Name: DNA Ligase 1
Chromosome: CHR19: 48618702 -48673560
Locus: 19q13.33
CDKAL1 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the methylthiotransferase family. The function of this gene is not known. Genome-wide association studies have linked single nucleotide polymorphisms in an intron of this gene with susceptibilty to type 2 diabetes. [provided by RefSeq, May 2010]
Gene Name: CDK5 Regulatory Subunit Associated Protein 1 Like 1
