CARS-TSHZ3 Fusion FISH Probe
The CARS-TSHZ3 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the CARS and TSHZ3 genes. The fusion of the CARS and TSHZ3 genes has been associated with Sarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

CARS Gene Summary
This gene encodes a class 1 aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase, cysteinyl-tRNA synthetase. Each of the twenty aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases catalyzes the aminoacylation of a specific tRNA or tRNA isoaccepting family with the cognate amino acid. This gene is one of several located near the imprinted gene domain on chromosome 11p15.5, an important tumor-suppressor gene region. Alterations in this region have been associated with Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome, Wilms tumor, rhabdomyosarcoma, adrenocortical carcinoma, and lung, ovarian and breast cancers. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2010]
Gene Name: Cysteinyl-tRNA Synthetase
Chromosome: CHR11: 3022151 -3078681
Locus: 11p15.4
TSHZ3 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a zinc-finger transcription factor that regulates smooth muscle cell differentiation in the developing urinary tract. Consistent with this role, mice in which this gene has been inactivated exhibit abnormal gene expression in urinary tract smooth muscle cell precursors and kidney defects including hydronephrosis. The encoded transcription factor comprises a gene silencing complex that inhibits caspase expression. Reduced expression of this gene and consequent caspase upregulation may be correlated with progression of Alzheimer's disease in human patients. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2016]
Gene Name: Teashirt Zinc Finger Homeobox 3
Chromosome: CHR19: 31765850 -31840190
