CAPZB-SCEL Fusion FISH Probe
The CAPZB-SCEL Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the CAPZB and SCEL genes. The fusion of the CAPZB and SCEL genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

CAPZB Gene Summary
This gene encodes the beta subunit of the barbed-end actin binding protein, which belongs to the F-actin capping protein family. The capping protein is a heterodimeric actin capping protein that blocks actin filament assembly and disassembly at the fast growing (barbed) filament ends and functions in regulating actin filament dynamics as well as in stabilizing actin filament lengths in muscle and nonmuscle cells. A pseudogene of this gene is located on the long arm of chromosome 2. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found.[provided by RefSeq, Aug 2013]
Gene Name: Capping Actin Protein Of Muscle Z-line Beta Subunit
Chromosome: CHR1: 19665266 -19812066
Locus: 1p36.13
SCEL Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a precursor to the cornified envelope of terminally differentiated keratinocytes. This protein localizes to the periphery of cells and may function in the assembly or regulation of proteins in the cornified envelope. Transcript variants encoding different isoforms exist. A transcript variant utilizing an alternative polyA signal has been described in the literature, but its full-length nature has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
