CAPN5-PELI3 Fusion FISH Probe
The CAPN5-PELI3 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the CAPN5 and PELI3 genes. The fusion of the CAPN5 and PELI3 genes has been associated with Lung Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

CAPN5 Gene Summary
Calpains are calcium-dependent cysteine proteases involved in signal transduction in a variety of cellular processes. A functional calpain protein consists of an invariant small subunit and 1 of a family of large subunits. CAPN5 is one of the large subunits. Unlike some of the calpains, CAPN5 and CAPN6 lack a calmodulin-like domain IV. Because of the significant similarity to Caenorhabditis elegans sex determination gene tra-3, CAPN5 is also called as HTRA3. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Calpain 5
Chromosome: CHR11: 76777991 -76837198
Locus: 11q13.5
PELI3 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a scaffold protein and an intermediate signaling protein in the innate immune response pathway. The encoded protein helps transmit the immune response signal from Toll-like receptors to IRAK1/TRAF6 complexes. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Jul 2011]
Gene Name: Pellino E3 Ubiquitin Protein Ligase Family Member 3
Chromosome: CHR11: 66233797 -66244808
Locus: 11q13.2
