CACNA1I-SYNGR1 Fusion FISH Probe
The CACNA1I-SYNGR1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the CACNA1I and SYNGR1 genes. The fusion of the CACNA1I and SYNGR1 genes has been associated with Bladder Urothelial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

CACNA1I Gene Summary
This gene encodes the pore-forming alpha subunit of a voltage gated calcium channel. The encoded protein is a member of a subfamily of calcium channels referred to as is a low voltage-activated, T-type, calcium channel. The channel encoded by this protein is characterized by a slower activation and inactivation compared to other T-type calcium channels. This protein may be involved in calcium signaling in neurons. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]
Gene Name: Calcium Voltage-gated Channel Subunit Alpha1 I
Chromosome: CHR22: 39966757 -40085740
Locus: 22q13.1
SYNGR1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes an integral membrane protein associated with presynaptic vesicles in neuronal cells. The exact function of this protein is unclear, but studies of a similar murine protein suggest that it functions in synaptic plasticity without being required for synaptic transmission. The gene product belongs to the synaptogyrin gene family. Three alternatively spliced variants encoding three different isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Synaptogyrin 1
Chromosome: CHR22: 39745953 -39781593
Locus: 22q13.1
