BRD9-STARD3 Fusion FISH Probe
The BRD9-STARD3 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the BRD9 and STARD3 genes. The fusion of the BRD9 and STARD3 genes has been associated with Esophageal Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

STARD3 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of a subfamily of lipid trafficking proteins that are characterized by a C-terminal steroidogenic acute regulatory domain and an N-terminal metastatic lymph node 64 domain. The encoded protein localizes to the membranes of late endosomes and may be involved in exporting cholesterol. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.[provided by RefSeq, Oct 2009]
