BRD1-APOL5 Fusion FISH Probe
The BRD1-APOL5 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the BRD1 and APOL5 genes. The fusion of the BRD1 and APOL5 genes has been associated with Lung Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

BRD1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a bromodomain-containing protein that localizes to the nucleus and can interact with DNA and histone tails. The encoded protein is a component of the MOZ/MORF acetyltransferase complex and can stimulate acetylation of histones H3 and H4, thereby potentially playing a role in gene activation. Variation in this gene is associated with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder in some study populations. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2017]
Gene Name: Bromodomain Containing 1
Chromosome: CHR22: 50166936 -50218452
Locus: 22q13.33
APOL5 Gene Summary
This gene is a member of the apolipoprotein L gene family. The encoded protein is found in the cytoplasm, where it may affect the movement of lipids or allow the binding of lipids to organelles. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Apolipoprotein L5
Chromosome: CHR22: 36113918 -36125529
Locus: 22q12.3
