BIRC7-ZNF200 Fusion FISH Probe
The BIRC7-ZNF200 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the BIRC7 and ZNF200 genes. The fusion of the BIRC7 and ZNF200 genes has been associated with Skin Cutaneous Melanoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

ZNF200 Gene Summary
The Zinc Finger Protein 200 (ZNF200) gene is located on chr16 :3272324-3285457 at 16p13.3.
Gene Name: Zinc Finger Protein 200
Chromosome: CHR16: 3272324 -3285457
Locus: 16p13.3
BIRC7 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the inhibitor of apoptosis protein (IAP) family, and contains a single copy of a baculovirus IAP repeat (BIR) as well as a RING-type zinc finger domain. The BIR domain is essential for inhibitory activity and interacts with caspases, while the RING finger domain sometimes enhances antiapoptotic activity but does not inhibit apoptosis alone. Elevated levels of the encoded protein may be associated with cancer progression and play a role in chemotherapy sensitivity. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2013]
Gene Name: Baculoviral IAP Repeat Containing 7
Chromosome: CHR20: 61867275 -61871854
Locus: 20q13.33
