BCL7C-OTOA Fusion FISH Probe
The BCL7C-OTOA Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the BCL7C and OTOA genes. The fusion of the BCL7C and OTOA genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

BCL7C Gene Summary
This gene is identified by the similarity of its product to the N-terminal region of BCL7A protein. The BCL7A protein is encoded by the gene known to be directly involved in a three-way gene translocation in a Burkitt lymphoma cell line. The function of this gene has not yet been determined. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2013]
Gene Name: BCL Tumor Suppressor 7C
Chromosome: CHR16: 30899115 -30905399
Locus: 16p11.2
OTOA Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is specifically expressed in the inner ear, and is located at the interface between the apical surface of the inner ear sensory epithelia and their overlying acellular gels. It is prposed that this protein is involved in the attachment of the inner ear acellular gels to the apical surface of the underlying nonsensory cells. Mutations in this gene are associated with autosomal recessive deafness type 22 (DFNB22). Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]
Gene Name: Otoancorin
Chromosome: CHR16: 21689834 -21772050
Locus: 16p12.2
