BAZ2B-PLA2R1 Fusion FISH Probe
The BAZ2B-PLA2R1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the BAZ2B and PLA2R1 genes. The fusion of the BAZ2B and PLA2R1 genes has been associated with Cholangiocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

PLA2R1 Gene Summary
This gene represents a phospholipase A2 receptor. The encoded protein likely exists as both a transmembrane form and a soluble form. The transmembrane receptor may play a role in clearance of phospholipase A2, thereby inhibiting its action. Polymorphisms at this locus have been associated with susceptibility to idiopathic membranous nephropathy. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.[provided by RefSeq, Sep 2010]
Gene Name: Phospholipase A2 Receptor 1
Chromosome: CHR2: 160797259 -160919126
Locus: 2q24.2
BAZ2B Gene Summary
This gene belongs to the bromodomain gene family. Members of this gene family encode proteins that are integral components of chromatin remodeling complexes. The encoded protein showed strong preference for the activating H3K14Ac mark in a histone peptide screen, suggesting a potential role in transcriptional activation. This gene may be associated with susceptibility to sudden cardiac death (SCD). [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2016]
Gene Name: Bromodomain Adjacent To Zinc Finger Domain 2B
Chromosome: CHR2: 160175489 -160473059
Locus: 2q24.2
