BANP-JPH3 Fusion FISH Probe
The BANP-JPH3 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the BANP and JPH3 genes. The fusion of the BANP and JPH3 genes has been associated with Skin Cutaneous Melanoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

BANP Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein that binds to matrix attachment regions. The protein forms a complex with p53 and negatively regulates p53 transcription, and functions as a tumor suppressor and cell cycle regulator. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2010]
Gene Name: BTG3 Associated Nuclear Protein
Chromosome: CHR16: 87985037 -88110924
Locus: 16q24.2
JPH3 Gene Summary
Junctional complexes between the plasma membrane and endoplasmic/sarcoplasmic reticulum are a common feature of all excitable cell types and mediate cross talk between cell surface and intracellular ion channels. The protein encoded by this gene is a component of junctional complexes and is composed of a C-terminal hydrophobic segment spanning the endoplasmic/sarcoplasmic reticulum membrane and a remaining cytoplasmic domain that shows specific affinity for the plasma membrane. CAG/CTG repeat expansion from normally 6-28 repeats to 40-59 repeats in the 3' UTR of this gene have been associated with Huntington disease-like 2 (HDL2). This gene is a member of the junctophilin gene family. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2016]
Gene Name: Junctophilin 3
