B9D2-REEP6 Fusion FISH Probe
The B9D2-REEP6 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the B9D2 and REEP6 genes. The fusion of the B9D2 and REEP6 genes has been associated with Esophageal Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

B9D2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a B9 domain protein, which are exclusively found in ciliated organisms. The gene is upregulated during mucociliary differentiation, and the encoded protein localizes to basal bodies and cilia. Disrupting expression of this gene results in ciliogenesis defects. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2009]
Gene Name: B9 Domain Containing 2
Chromosome: CHR19: 41860321 -41870078
Locus: 19q13.2
REEP6 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene may be involved in the transport of receptors from the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) to the cell surface. The encoded protein may also play a role in regulating ER membrane structure. This gene is required for the proper development of retinal rods and photoreceptors, with defects in this gene being associated with retinitis pigmentosa 77. [provided by RefSeq, May 2017]
Gene Name: Receptor Accessory Protein 6
Chromosome: CHR19: 1491164 -1497924
Locus: 19p13.3
