ATP9A-WFDC8 Fusion FISH Probe
The ATP9A-WFDC8 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ATP9A and WFDC8 genes. The fusion of the ATP9A and WFDC8 genes has been associated with Colon Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

ATP9A Gene Summary
The ATPase Phospholipid Transporting 9A (putative) (ATP9A) gene is located on chr20 :50213313-50384908 at 20q13.2.
Gene Name: ATPase Phospholipid Transporting 9A (putative)
Chromosome: CHR20: 50213313 -50384908
Locus: 20q13.2
WFDC8 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the WAP-type four-disulfide core (WFDC) domain family. The WFDC domain, or WAP signature motif, contains eight cysteines forming four disulfide bonds at the core of the protein, and functions as a protease inhibitor. The encoded protein contains a Kunitz-inhibitor domain, in addition to three WFDC domains. Most WFDC genes are localized to chromosome 20q12-q13 in two clusters: centromeric and telomeric. This gene belongs to the telomeric cluster. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene, and they encode the same protein. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
