ATP8B2-ADAR Fusion FISH Probe
The ATP8B2-ADAR Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ATP8B2 and ADAR genes. The fusion of the ATP8B2 and ADAR genes has been associated with Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

ADAR Gene Summary
This gene encodes the enzyme responsible for RNA editing by site-specific deamination of adenosines. This enzyme destabilizes double-stranded RNA through conversion of adenosine to inosine. Mutations in this gene have been associated with dyschromatosis symmetrica hereditaria. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2010]
Gene Name: Adenosine Deaminase, RNA Specific
Chromosome: CHR1: 154554533 -154600456
Locus: 1q21.3
ATP8B2 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the family of P-type cation transport ATPases, and to the subfamily of aminophospholipid-transporting ATPases. The aminophospholipid translocases transport phosphatidylserine and phosphatidylethanolamine from one side of a bilayer to another. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: ATPase Phospholipid Transporting 8B2
Chromosome: CHR1: 154300275 -154323780
Locus: 1q21.3
