ASAP1-ADCY2 Fusion FISH Probe
The ASAP1-ADCY2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ASAP1 and ADCY2 genes. The fusion of the ASAP1 and ADCY2 genes has been associated with Bladder Urothelial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

ADCY2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the family of adenylate cyclases, which are membrane-associated enzymes that catalyze the formation of the secondary messenger cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP). This enzyme is insensitive to Ca(2+)/calmodulin, and is stimulated by the G protein beta and gamma subunit complex. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Adenylate Cyclase 2
Chromosome: CHR5: 7396342 -7830194
Locus: 5p15.31
ASAP1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes an ADP-ribosylation factor (ARF) GTPase-activating protein. The GTPase-activating activity is stimulated by phosphatidylinositol 4,5-biphosphate (PIP2), and is greater towards ARF1 and ARF5, and lesser for ARF6. This gene maybe involved in regulation of membrane trafficking and cytoskeleton remodeling. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]
Gene Name: ArfGAP With SH3 Domain, Ankyrin Repeat And PH Domain 1
Chromosome: CHR8: 131064352 -131414217
Locus: 8q24.21-q24.22
