ART3-NUP54 Fusion FISH Probe
The ART3-NUP54 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ART3 and NUP54 genes. The fusion of the ART3 and NUP54 genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

ART3 Gene Summary
This gene encodes an arginine-specific ADP-ribosyltransferase. The encoded protein catalyzes a reversible reaction which modifies proteins by the addition or removal of ADP-ribose to an arginine residue to regulate the function of the modified protein. An ADP-ribosyltransferase pseudogene is located on chromosome 11. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2011]
Gene Name: ADP-ribosyltransferase 3
Chromosome: CHR4: 76932336 -77033955
Locus: 4p15.1-p14
NUP54 Gene Summary
The nuclear envelope creates distinct nuclear and cytoplasmic compartments in eukaryotic cells. It consists of two concentric membranes perforated by nuclear pores, large protein complexes that form aqueous channels to regulate the flow of macromolecules between the nucleus and the cytoplasm. These complexes are composed of at least 100 different polypeptide subunits, many of which belong to the nucleoporin family. This gene encodes a member of the phe-gly (FG) repeat-containing nucleoporin subset. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2013]
Gene Name: Nucleoporin 54
Chromosome: CHR4: 77035816 -77069655
Locus: 4q21.1
