ARID3A-PMEPA1 Fusion FISH Probe
The ARID3A-PMEPA1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ARID3A and PMEPA1 genes. The fusion of the ARID3A and PMEPA1 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

ARID3A Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the ARID (AT-rich interaction domain) family of DNA binding proteins. It was found by homology to the Drosophila dead ringer gene, which is important for normal embryogenesis. Other ARID family members have roles in embryonic patterning, cell lineage gene regulation, cell cycle control, transcriptional regulation, and possibly in chromatin structure modification. Gene Name: AT-rich Interaction Domain 3A
Chromosome: CHR19: 926036 -972803
Locus: 19p13.3
PMEPA1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a transmembrane protein that contains a Smad interacting motif (SIM). Expression of this gene is induced by androgens and transforming growth factor beta, and the encoded protein suppresses the androgen receptor and transforming growth factor beta signaling pathways though interactions with Smad proteins. Overexpression of this gene may play a role in multiple types of cancer. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2011]
Gene Name: Prostate Transmembrane Protein, Androgen Induced 1
Chromosome: CHR20: 56223451 -56286541
Locus: 20q13.31
