ARID1B-TIAM2 Fusion FISH Probe
The ARID1B-TIAM2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ARID1B and TIAM2 genes. The fusion of the ARID1B and TIAM2 genes has been associated with Glioblastoma Multiforme, and Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

TIAM2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a guanine nucleotide exchange factor. A highly similar mouse protein specifically activates ras-related C3 botulinum substrate 1, converting this Rho-like guanosine triphosphatase (GTPase) from a guanosine diphosphate-bound inactive state to a guanosine triphosphate-bound active state. The encoded protein may play a role in neural cell development. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: T-cell Lymphoma Invasion And Metastasis 2
Chromosome: CHR6: 155411422 -155578857
Locus: 6q25.2-q25.3
ARID1B Gene Summary
This locus encodes an AT-rich DNA interacting domain-containing protein. The encoded protein is a component of the SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complex and may play a role in cell-cycle activation. The protein encoded by this locus is similar to AT-rich interactive domain-containing protein 1A. These two proteins function as alternative, mutually exclusive ARID-subunits of the SWI/SNF complex. The associated complexes play opposing roles. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2016]
