ARID1B-PREP Fusion FISH Probe
The ARID1B-PREP Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ARID1B and PREP genes. The fusion of the ARID1B and PREP genes has been associated with Brain Lower Grade Glioma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

PREP Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a cytosolic prolyl endopeptidase that cleaves peptide bonds on the C-terminal side of prolyl residues within peptides that are up to approximately 30 amino acids long. Prolyl endopeptidases have been reported to be involved in the maturation and degradation of peptide hormones and neuropeptides. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Prolyl Endopeptidase
Chromosome: CHR6: 105725441 -105850999
Locus: 6q21
ARID1B Gene Summary
This locus encodes an AT-rich DNA interacting domain-containing protein. The encoded protein is a component of the SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complex and may play a role in cell-cycle activation. The protein encoded by this locus is similar to AT-rich interactive domain-containing protein 1A. These two proteins function as alternative, mutually exclusive ARID-subunits of the SWI/SNF complex. The associated complexes play opposing roles. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2016]
Gene Name: AT-rich Interaction Domain 1B
Chromosome: CHR6: 157099063 -157531913
Locus: 6q25.3
