ARFGEF1-SORCS2 Fusion FISH Probe
The ARFGEF1-SORCS2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ARFGEF1 and SORCS2 genes. The fusion of the ARFGEF1 and SORCS2 genes has been associated with Sarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

ARFGEF1 Gene Summary
ADP-ribosylation factors (ARFs) play an important role in intracellular vesicular trafficking. The protein encoded by this gene is involved in the activation of ARFs by accelerating replacement of bound GDP with GTP. It contains a Sec7 domain, which may be responsible for guanine-nucleotide exchange activity and also brefeldin A inhibition. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]
Gene Name: ADP Ribosylation Factor Guanine Nucleotide Exchange Factor 1
Chromosome: CHR8: 68109883 -68255912
Locus: 8q13.2
SORCS2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes one family member of vacuolar protein sorting 10 (VPS10) domain-containing receptor proteins. The VPS10 domain name comes from the yeast carboxypeptidase Y sorting receptor Vps10 protein. Members of this gene family are large with many exons but the CDS lengths are usually less than 3700 nt. Very large introns typically separate the exons encoding the VPS10 domain; the remaining exons are separated by much smaller-sized introns. These genes are strongly expressed in the central nervous system. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Sortilin Related VPS10 Domain Containing Receptor 2
Chromosome: CHR4: 7194373 -7744564
Locus: 4p16.1
