ARFGEF1-CPA6 Fusion FISH Probe
The ARFGEF1-CPA6 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ARFGEF1 and CPA6 genes. The fusion of the ARFGEF1 and CPA6 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma, and Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

ARFGEF1 Gene Summary
ADP-ribosylation factors (ARFs) play an important role in intracellular vesicular trafficking. The protein encoded by this gene is involved in the activation of ARFs by accelerating replacement of bound GDP with GTP. It contains a Sec7 domain, which may be responsible for guanine-nucleotide exchange activity and also brefeldin A inhibition. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]
Gene Name: ADP Ribosylation Factor Guanine Nucleotide Exchange Factor 1
Chromosome: CHR8: 68109883 -68255912
Locus: 8q13.2
CPA6 Gene Summary
The gene encodes a member of the peptidase M14 family of metallocarboxypeptidases. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate the mature enzyme, which catalyzes the release of large hydrophobic C-terminal amino acids. This enzyme has functions ranging from digestion of food to selective biosynthesis of neuroendocrine peptides. Mutations in this gene may be linked to epilepsy and febrile seizures, and a translocation t(6;8)(q26;q13) involving this gene has been associated with Duane retraction syndrome. [provided by RefSeq, May 2016]
Gene Name: Carboxypeptidase A6
Chromosome: CHR8: 68334404 -68658620
Locus: 8q13.2
