APC-REEP2 Fusion FISH Probe
The APC-REEP2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the APC and REEP2 genes. The fusion of the APC and REEP2 genes has been associated with Adrenocortical Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

APC Gene Summary
This gene encodes a tumor suppressor protein that acts as an antagonist of the Wnt signaling pathway. It is also involved in other processes including cell migration and adhesion, transcriptional activation, and apoptosis. Defects in this gene cause familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP), an autosomal dominant pre-malignant disease that usually progresses to malignancy. Disease-associated mutations tend to be clustered in a small region designated the mutation cluster region (MCR) and result in a truncated protein product. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: APC, WNT Signaling Pathway Regulator
Chromosome: CHR5: 112043201 -112181936
Locus: 5q22.2
REEP2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the receptor expression enhancing protein family. Studies of a related gene in mouse suggest that the encoded protein is found in the cell membrane and enhances the function of sweet taste receptors. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2012]
Gene Name: Receptor Accessory Protein 2
Chromosome: CHR5: 137774775 -137782658
Locus: 5q31.2
