APC-ALDH1L1 Fusion FISH Probe
The APC-ALDH1L1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the APC and ALDH1L1 genes. The fusion of the APC and ALDH1L1 genes has been associated with Kidney Renal Clear Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

APC Gene Summary
This gene encodes a tumor suppressor protein that acts as an antagonist of the Wnt signaling pathway. It is also involved in other processes including cell migration and adhesion, transcriptional activation, and apoptosis. Defects in this gene cause familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP), an autosomal dominant pre-malignant disease that usually progresses to malignancy. Disease-associated mutations tend to be clustered in a small region designated the mutation cluster region (MCR) and result in a truncated protein product. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: APC, WNT Signaling Pathway Regulator
Chromosome: CHR5: 112043201 -112181936
Locus: 5q22.2
ALDH1L1 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene catalyzes the conversion of 10-formyltetrahydrofolate, nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADP+), and water to tetrahydrofolate, NADPH, and carbon dioxide. The encoded protein belongs to the aldehyde dehydrogenase family. Loss of function or expression of this gene is associated with decreased apoptosis, increased cell motility, and cancer progression. There is an antisense transcript that overlaps on the opposite strand with this gene locus. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2012]
Gene Name: Aldehyde Dehydrogenase 1 Family Member L1
Chromosome: CHR3: 125822407 -125899485
Locus: 3q21.3
